REAL, WHEN YOU ARE HUMAN 2025
Concept:
“Real When You’re Human” is a visual exploration of the deep essence of things, people, and emotions.
In a world dominated by the illusory, synthetic, deceptive, filtered, and artificially constructed, there is a longing to cast all of it aside and remember oneself as truly real.
Authenticity is examined as a state of being, as resistance to falseness, as a search for the authentic self — through the reflections of children, who still know and have not yet forgotten what that state feels like.
Authenticity has no single form. It lives in the freedom to be oneself, in the ability to see the world as it is — unadorned — in moments of inner silence, emotional vulnerability, and imperfection, which is what makes us real.
Features:
Each painting reflects the thoughts of children of different ages who shared their vision of what it means to be “real.”
The original audio composition for the project was created by Polish musicians Dagmara Gregorowicz (DAGADANA) & Grabek, based on recordings of children (Martusia, Anna, Bohdan, Demyan, Lesyk, Magdusia, Solya, Mark) telling what realness means to them.
The diptych “Realness. Reflection”, presented at the exhibition, is the result of a collaboration between artist Olya Kravchenko and Solomiia Liaskovska, an artificial intelligence specialist, PhD in Technical Sciences, and Associate Professor at the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems at Lviv Polytechnic National University.
This artwork was created based on pre-defined conceptual parameters. Using the Midjourney neural network, text prompts were developed to serve as the foundation for visualizing the core idea. One part of the diptych was created by the artist, interpreting the prompt through her own aesthetic lens and creative experience. The other part was generated by artificial intelligence according to the specified instructions.
The diptych highlights the interaction between human imagination and algorithmic vision, emphasizing the potential of synthesizing traditional art with contemporary digital technologies.
