In choosing iconography manner and compositional solutions, I am inspired by ancient church images. I am attracted by the Ukrainian iconography of the XIV-XVII centuries, by the simplicity and proud spirit of icon painters. The one that was born when painters honoured the Lord with dignified waves of brushes. They created regardless of the circumstances and always found an inner balance for the manifestations of faith. And often, while slightly deviating from theology, they became profane lovers of life and humorists. Doctrinal statics is not inherent to Ukrainian icon painters - they are unsurpassed in creative diversity.
