Uliana Kulchytska "GENERATION. THEORY"

/ 26.02.2019—31.03.2019 /

Grouped on the paper abstract combinations as invented, barely clear image of the representations about the generation - about the ancestors. They lived long time ago. They – the far away family. We don’t remember them. We don’t know them. Because of the limited time of man and uncompromising death, or because of the irony of fate - we have lost contact with them. However, something exists what doesn’t allow you to lose the feeling of a native one. What constantly nourishes our blood with oxygen, which, after all, is a common denominator for all generations. Photography, different narratives and stories, clothes and other household things - are such a necessary oxygen. Due to this, we allow ourselves to assume | fantasize, who were our relatives, what characters they had ...
Anyway… w e  a r e  u n f a m i l i a r

-          did not look into their eyes

-          did not hear their voice

-          did not embrace

-          did not ask for an advice

-          did not ask about their life stories

-          did not squeeze their hand

-          did not sit with them at one table

-          did not stay for the night

-          did not say, I can’t visit because of the lack of time

-          there was no meeting

-          there was no goodbye
